Ice-fishing weather forecasts appear promising in Ohio

Long-range weather forecasts appear promising to at least allow some ice fishing this winter on Lake Erie and on inland waters. Ice fishing on Lake Erie doesn’t happen every year, and when it does it’s usually for a short window of time. (Stock photo)

While meteorologists can often not even accurately forecast the next day’s weather, some try each summer or fall to predict how severe the winter will be in the various regions of North America.
One of the most anticipated, but not necessarily reliable, long-range winter forecasts are the ones offered by the Old Farmer’s Almanac and Farmer’s Almanac.
