Innovative way to display gobbler trophies by incorporating ‘turkey jewels’

This innovative mount, that includes a gobbler’s skull, spurs, beards, gizzard stones and tail feathers, was put together by the writer. Making displays like these, he says, adds to his turkey-hunting experiences and seasons. (Photos by Paul Heasley)

After seeing several posts and photos of “turkey jewels” – which are the gizzard stones from harvested gobblers – I thought these were another item to add to the fan, beard and spurs. So I gave some serious thought to try and come up with an interesting way to showcase them.
