Patrick Hemingway, Ernest Hemingway’s last surviving child, dies at 97

Patrick Hemingway, the last surviving son of Ernest Hemingway who was inspired by his father to spend years in Africa and later oversaw numerous posthumous works by the Nobel laureate, died Tuesday, Sept. 2 at age 97.
Hemingway, the second of the author’s three sons, died at his home in Bozeman, Mont., his grandson, Patrick Hemingway Adams, confirmed in a statement.

Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders expo planned for Sept. 27

The Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders (OCBS) would like to invite readers of Ohio Outdoor News to attend its 31st annual Steelhead Expo.
Over the years, this family-friendly event has established itself as the informal kickoff to the season for many “Steelhead Valley” anglers. This year’s expo is being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Rocky River Nature Center in North Olmsted.
