Could rare bee found in Michigan have originated in Illinois?

Could a rare bumblebee discovered in Michigan have been carried from an Illinois automobile that entered the neighboring state?

That’s just one theory posed after a photo of a bumblebee found near Kalamazoo, Michigan, was used to confirm the presence of a species rarely seen in recent decades.
