Travel far enough south and you’ll enter a world where the dove opener is dang near a regional holiday. Over fields of millet, sorghum, and a host of other dove-friendly plantings, folks will line up with family and friends to pass shoot mourning doves.
Up here in the north country, things are little more subdued. That’s a shame, because dove hunting can be a blast. If you can hit them.
