On June 7, opening day of the Southtowns Walleye Association’s club contest held on Lake Erie June 7-15, Karl Clapp, of Lancaster, was fishing with boat-owner Dennis Packard, of Derby, Scott Miller, of Angola, and Bob Niehaus also of Angola, off Cattaraugus Creek. Fishing magic was about to happen.
As the saying goes, “sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good” as Clapp reeled in a big walleye.
