When it comes to saugeye lakes in the Buckeye State, Buckeye Lake in central Ohio may be right at the top.
Buckeye Lake is the third largest inland lake in Ohio at 2,847 acres. It was formed in 1825 in an old swamp to serve as a water source for the old overland canal system.
