Lake Shelbyville’s initial hosting of the Illinois High School Association’s bass fishing state championships appeared to go smoothly – foggy start and all.
After being held at Carlyle Lake since its inception in 2009, the two day tournament moved to Shelbyville as part of a 5-year schedule set by the IHSA Bass Fishing Advisory Board. This year’s finals tournament, held June 6-7, was also later on the calendar than in the past, part of a series restructuring that added a Regional Tournament round.
