The most recent case – a red deer from a captive deer farm in Wayne County – was confirmed by a U.S. Department of Agriculture lab on March 28 after it was submitted for testing on Jan. 20. According to the state Department of Agriculture, the deer was moved to the Wayne County facility from Huntingdon County on Oct. 25, 2021.
