How Wisconsin DNR research is helping shape wildlife policy

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Office of Applied Science oversees a wide range of wildlife research.
How often are bears reproducing in each zone? How are beavers impacting trout populations? How are predators and chronic wasting disease (CWD) affecting deer numbers? Are elk population models accurate? How much wild rice are geese and swans eating? The list goes on and on. Dens are observed. Birds monitored. Deer collared. Hunters polled.
