The return of wild turkeys to Wisconsin is one of the DNR’s most successful restoration programs and the plan for managing those thriving birds is about to be updated.
The DNR informed the Natural Resources Board (NRB) that it will now begin updating the agency’s turkey management plan that most recently covered the years of 2015 to 2025. Taylor Finger, game bird specialist for the DNR Bureau of Wildlife Management, told the NRB May 28 that the new plan will cover the next 10 years and include input from the public and many organizations.
