Even if a hunter, fisherman, or trapper is in violation of one or more rules and a citation is likely, a little cooperation and congeniality may help the situation and lessen the sting.
Such was the case for one deer hunter who was addressed by Jason Swaney, a DNR field warden in Walworth County. Swaney received a call from a passerby during the 2024 gun deer season to report a gun deer hunter who was not wearing the required blaze orange outerwear while hunting.
