Crappies, saugeyes are highlights at Dow Lake in Ohio’s Athens County

Dow Lake in Strouds Run State Park was formerly a place where springtime anglers could count on catching one of the rainbow trout stocked by the ODNR Division of Wildlife.
The stocking of trout at Dow, however, was halted in 2021 when the Division of Wildlife revamped its trout stocking program in favor of smaller waters.
