Illinois trappers are finished with their season, except for beaver and otter trappers whose season runs through March 31. As trappers turn to marketing their catch, there certainly hasn’t been a whole lot to brag about.
Most of the pricing that was talked about last fall has pretty much come to pass. Most of the wild fur that has been sold so far has gone for about what it sold for last year or perhaps a bit less – a lot less in the case of beaver. There have been a few bright spots.
