Nearly 5,000 federal natural resource employees headed for layoffs

Federal natural resource agencies late last week launched sweeping personnel cuts totaling thousands of public lands employees across the country.
The layoffs are part of the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce the size of the federal workforce, which are being led by billionaire Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency.
