Wisconsin 10-pointer is an antlered doe… or is it?

Georgia Vesperman, of Lancaster, Wis., shot this 10-point deer during the 2023 gun deer season, only to find it had external female genitalia, and no external sign of being a buck, other than the antlers. Her once-in-a-lifetime deer is featured in Dan Small’s 2024 “Deer Hunt Wisconsin” TV special. She is pictured here with her dad, Jerry, and Jacob and Jeff Vesperman. Lancaster high schooler Georgia Vesperman and her dad, Jerry, were surprised when they rolled over the Wisconsin 10-pointer she had dropped at 260 yards during the 2023 gun season. It had no visible male genitalia. They looked under its tail and found what you would expect for a doe, not a buck.
Jacob Vesperman is Georgia’s cousin. He said evidence already had him questioning the gender of this antlered deer.
“The history with this deer started about three years before my cousin Georgia shot it,” he said.
