The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is working to increase hunting and fishing license fees with forthcoming legislation during the lame duck session.
The DNR is vetting the proposal through stakeholder hunting and fishing groups across the state, and the vast majority of statewide conservation organizations are on board with the increases, which come with automatic future adjustments tied to the Consumer Price Index.
