Throughout the Midwest pheasant hunting states, the message from Pheasants Forever and state agency wildlife biologists regarding what hunters can expect this fall is fairly consistent across the region.
The mild winter led to more adult birds surviving what often can be a difficult season for the favorite upland game bird for many hunters. On the downside, heavy late spring rains that ended the prolonged drought was a double-edged sword.
