Training is key to your accuracy with a rifle; here’s how to improve

Practicing offhand is an excellent way for a hunter to improve as a shooter. Practice does not always have to be with your hunting rifle. Get a fun gun, you will be glad you did. Hunting and shooting are separate skills, yet inseparable in the field. (Photo courtesy John Tertuliani)

The Olympic shooter from Turkey displayed shooting skill at its finest. Earning a silver medal, it was all him – no leather shooting jacket, eye blind, nor any of the popular trappings deemed necessary by some of the other shooting competitors.
The most accurate pistols money could buy were likely there. I picture him grabbing his garden gun from the garage, because he knew it well. The Olympics displayed how easy it is to miss your mark. Having all the right stuff was not enough.
