For the past couple of Ohio Outdoor News print issues, the reader’s “Sounding Board” has asked a simple enough question: “Is the walleye a good choice for the official state fish of Ohio.”
In the Aug. 2 issue, of the five responders, only fellow Ohio Outdoor News columnist Steve Pollick (brave soul that he is) picked a species other than the walleye. He made a compelling argument for the smallmouth bass. Compelling, perhaps, but not convincing.
