New crossbows can be pricey, but almost always effective

Today's crossbows can be expensive, but those that are offer hunters plenty of features that lead to deadly accuracy in the woods.

The crossbow craze isn’t losing momentum as more states allow the use of these speedsters, with some even reaching speeds of more than 500 feet per second. Some models cost more than a trusty deer rifle and require more maintenance than your .30-06.

Still, there’s no questioning their accuracy and effectiveness in the field.
