Outdoor News Welcomes Josh Ahlberg as New Sales and Marketing VP

Outdoor News Welcomes Josh Ahlberg as New Sales and Marketing VP.

MINNEAPOLIS, June 27, 2024 — Outdoor News, a leading publisher of hunting and fishing journalism for outdoor enthusiasts for more than 50 years, has announced the hiring of Minneapolis native and brand marketing executive, Josh Ahlberg, as its new Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“The staff at Outdoor News is thrilled to have someone with Josh’s professional skillset on board to continue taking this company to the next level,” said Rob Drieslein, managing editor at Outdoor News. “We’ve spent the past two years transforming the business from a legacy media operation to one that reaches vast and growing audiences a myriad of ways – from content, email, and social media marketing to affiliate programs and podcasting. Josh is clearly motivated to take the palette we’ve built to expand the business and engage our customers and advertising partners in innovative new ways.”

Ahlberg, a seasoned marketing and sales leader, has more than two decades of experience working with Fortune 100 businesses – spanning advertising, sales, brand marketing, media, strategy, etc… – across multiple verticals.

As VP of Sales & Marketing, Ahlberg will be headquartered in Minneapolis and responsible for leading sales and marketing efforts for the business across the country – with a focus on the Upper Midwest and the Northeast where Outdoor News dominates the outdoor journalism space with its physical publications.

“Josh will be leading the charge as our digital imprint expands and we continue to share our content across a broader geographic area of the country,” Drieslein said. “His business acumen and enthusiasm, not to mention a love of hunting and fishing, is truly infectious, and I’ve never been more confident and optimistic about the opportunities Outdoor News has to offer our corporate and nonprofit partners.”

Ahlberg is best known for his strategic, consumer-centric brand marketing and his ability to build durable relationships with both his partners and teams. “I could not be more excited to be joining the Outdoor News team. As someone who was raised to have the utmost admiration and respect for everything outdoors, it’s a terrific opportunity to blend my professional background with my personal affinity for the outdoor sports and everything Mother Nature has to offer,” Ahlberg said.
