Federal funds will help enhance sturgeon passage in Minnesota’s Upper Otter Tail River

Limitations to fish movement affect more than just lake sturgeon. It’s been efforts to create fish passage where it was lost to dams and culverts, however, that’s spurred sturgeon restoration efforts in Minnesota. Federal dollars for culvert work will aid the cause. (Photo courtesy of the Minnesota DNR)

Video of the happening was wildly viewed on social media and marked an important step in re-establishing the onceextirpated species that began with Minnesota DNR recovery efforts in the 1990s.
