Hunter numbers and the deer harvest both inched up slightly last year, according to the Michigan DNR’s latest harvest report, which was presented to the state Natural Resources Commission at its meeting earlier this month in Traverse City.
DNR statistician Brian Frawley combined the online harvest reporting data with the annual hunter mail survey to get the final numbers.
