In a move similar to surrounding counties, County Deer Advisory Council members in Wisconsin’s Washburn and Sawyer counties recommended a reduction in the number of antlerless deer permits for the 2024 fall hunts.
Last year’s Washburn County antlerless authorizations were 3,100 on public land and 6,000 on private land. This year the recommendation is for 1,000 permits on public land and 5,000 on private land, which reflects what CDAC members heard from the public.
