After two solid days of hunting from dusk until dawn, another day hunting in the wind and rain, and yet another full day of close calls, it (finally) all came together. And like it often does in the turkey woods, the culmination of my spring season happened quickly.
The clear, chilly morning started with hot action as I spotted a pair of gobblers roosted low along the edge of an agriculture field just before daybreak.
