The Minnesota Legislature reached its second deadline Friday, March 22, which means omnibus bills start to roll out for the various committees. The Senate Environment, Climate, and Legacy Committee finalized the first draft of its omnibus bills March 21, while the House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee introduced its bill last Friday.
The omnibus bills usually include many individual bills heard throughout the early part of session, and the two committees typically have identical bills to pass the House and Senate. The main portions are identical, but some smaller details aren’t alike.
