Wild bobwhite quail return to Pennsylvania, but hunting is a long way off

With one experienced bird dog locked on point and another convincingly backing her, it was clear something had holed-up beneath the dense brush pile.
The hunter cautiously approached, double barrel at the ready. Suddenly, a covey of three quail sprung from the cover, caught the wind, and banked eastward as shots rang out in quick succession.
