Pheasant Fest panelists detail federal policies to watch, with emphasis on public access

One of the seminars at the National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic in Sioux Falls earlier this month was titled, “Hunter Access on America’s Public Lands,” with panelists including (l-r) John Gale, from the Bureau of Land Management, Todd Frerichs, from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Ted Koch, from the North American Grouse Partnership, and Ariel Wiegard, from Pheasants Forever. Every year, the National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic includes seminars relating to the event’s host state, but there are also seminars examining national-level issues. One of the national-focused seminars at the March 1-3 Pheasant Fest in Sioux Falls was “Hunter Access on America’s Public Lands,” which was moderated by Ariel Wiegard, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever vice president of government affairs.
