Turkey populations seem to be declining in many states to the south, but not so much in Michigan.
Michigan DNR Turkey Specialist Adam Bump said the state’s turkey population appears to be stable. That’s mostly based on harvest numbers and hunter numbers, which the agency tallies each year.
