Fifty years ago, the U.S. passed one of the most impactful pieces of environmental legislation that provided for protecting and conserving endangered species threatened with extinction.
Signed into law Dec. 28, 1973, The Endangered Species Act eventually would be adopted as a global environmental protection standard.
