In an effort to improve retention of state waterways conservation officers, the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is changing its training curriculum, beginning with the class of cadets currently being recruited. Aspiring officers will no longer receive 26-week Municipal Police Officer Education and Training with Act 120 certification, and instead will complete identical course work in programs administered by Fish & Boat Commission personnel and instructors at the Mansfield University municipal police academy in Tioga County.
