Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission alters enforcement training to keep officers

In an effort to improve retention of state waterways conservation officers, the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is changing its training curriculum, beginning with the class of cadets currently being recruited.
Aspiring officers will no longer receive 26-week Municipal Police Officer Education and Training with Act 120 certification, and instead will complete identical course work in programs administered by Fish & Boat Commission personnel and instructors at the Mansfield University municipal police academy in Tioga County.

Iowa State Parks and Forests seek seasonal employees for summer 2024

The Iowa DNR Parks, Forests and Preserves Bureau has openings for recreational aides and seasonal patrol officers across the state park system for the summer 2024 season.
Jobs duties include assisting park staff in patrolling the park, helping visitors, leading programs, registering campers, and/or maintaining the park through duties such as mowing, trimming, cleaning, trail work and facility repairs.

Ohio Farm Bureau tackles feral hogs, other topics at annual meeting

Delegates, 359 in all, from county farm bureaus in Ohio debated and discussed topics such as farmland preservation, artificial intelligence, solar power, and feral hogs at the Ohio Farm Bureau’s (OFB) 105th annual meeting.
There was a lot of talk about farmland preservation, how Ohio can continue to grow as a state, but doing it smartly while trying to preserve and protect farmland, said Jack Irvin, OFB’s vice president of public policy.
