In 2019, shortly after retirement, Ted Koch became executive director of the North American Grouse Partnership. He’d previously worked 30 years as an endangered species biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Koch lives in Garden Valley, Idaho, the state in which he spent 23 of this 30 years with the USFWS. You might say he accepted the job with the NAGP because of a passion for prairie grouse, but also for his disposition to offer support for an underdog.
