WI Daily Update: About 80 names of birds of the USA and Canada to be renamed

Beginning next year, the world’s largest group of ornithologists, the American Ornithological Society, will begin renaming as many as 80 North American bird species currently named after people. About 80 names of birds of the USA and Canada will be changed, followed by another 100-plus that occur from Mexico to Argentina. Here’s why.
