It was a five-year odyssey of twists and turns that led bowhunter Matt Groeschel to his 29-point Halloween buck in Marion County, Ohio, this fall.
Groeschel, who lives near Indian Lake but hunts in Marion County, had been following the buck through trail camera photos since 2018.
“Back then, he was just a mainframe eight, just clean but he had some mass to him,” Groeschel told Ohio Outdoor News just before Thanksgiving. “But it was one of those deer that you could look at the frame and know that in a couple of years he was going to be something special.”
