Success! Now, what to do with that deer?

Once your animal hits the ground, like this buck taken recently in Whiteside County, Ill., the work to preserve the high-quality meat and future memories begins. (Photo by Chance Medema)

Firearm season is beginning in Illinois and about 100,000 deer are going to be harvested over the next few weekends.
