The Minnesota DNR’s waterfowl migration and hunting report released Oct. 26 noted that hunting slowed in the past week, but hunters should be on the lookout for birds moving into the area with this cold stretch of weather arriving.
“Duck hunting was slow over the past week and hunting pressure has declined significantly statewide,” the report said. “However, with the arrival of a major cold front today, the outlook is excellent over the next few days as large numbers of migrant birds will move in and out of the state with changing weather. Canada goose numbers have increased substantially and should continue to build over the next few days.”
