A series of contracts, including two with conservation groups, were unanimously approved at the September meeting of the Iowa Natural Resources Commission.
The contract with Ducks Unlimited (DU) calls for construction of a water control structure and installation of a fish barrier at Eagle Lake marsh in Hancock County. The current water control system has deteriorated, making management of water levels difficult. Water quality and fish habitat are expected to be improved by the project. Cost will not exceed $267,000.
