Legislators need to be involved in hunting issues

Tom Venesky writes that we are seeing right now why it is important to have pro-hunting legislators get involved in matters of hunting issues in the wake of a decision by the federal Department of Education to block funding for hunter-ed and archery programs held in schools. (Stock photo)

It is easy to say that legislators shouldn’t weigh in on hunting issues.

And it’s noble to believe that the Pennsylvania Game Commission is a truly independent agency, free and clear from political influence. But it’s not true … and maybe that’s not always a bad thing.
