The reasons why the Wisconsin DNR killed the ‘Hunt Wild WI’ mobile app

Barring mass outrage by users of the DNR’s mobile app, Wisconsin hunters will never again tap the “Hunt Wild WI” icon on their tablet or smartphone to register deer or remind themselves when legal hunting hours end.
The popular app “retired” June 29, the DNR announced. Just to verify the claim, I tapped the app’s button on my iPhone on June 30. Sure enough, the DNR’s retirement announcement filled the screen, telling me the agency no longer supports the “Hunt Wild Mobile Application.”

This Aitkin County ‘Round’ Lake in Minnesota is deep, clear, full of bass

There are quite a few lakes named Round in and around Aitkin County. One in particular, the one you’ll learn about this week, is tucked in the shadow of Lake Mille Lacs’ north shore.
This 736-acre Round Lake is an extremely clear body of water with clarity that’s usually around 15 feet or more. Combine that with its abundance of sandy beaches, and you can count on recreational lake users to be as prevalent as anglers much of the summer.
