At 18, Illinois’ Trey McKinney hoping to be among youngest on Bassmaster Elite tour

Trey McKinney, an 18-year-old from Marion, is so close to achieving his dream of qualifying for the Bassmaster Elite circuit.
If McKinney moves up to the Elite series, he will be one of the youngest anglers in history to qualify for the circuit.
The dream is there in plain sight. McKinney is currently fishing the Bassmaster Open circuit, attempting to amass enough points to qualify for the Elites.

Commentary: Wisconsin public needs real CWD information

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) tried to dress up a pig recently, but didn’t use enough lipstick to win any kind of ribbon.
The DNR’s effort came May 24 during its update of the 2022 CWD season at the Natural Resources Board’s (NRB) Madison meeting. The DNR appeared to try camouflaging its lack of progress on controlling CWD.

Minnesota natives claim Bassmaster College Team of the Year title

Since their sophomore year of high school in Grand Rapids, Minn., Easton Fothergill and Nick Dumke have been tournament partners. Now as juniors at Alabama’s University of Montevallo, they added an impressive accomplishment to their resumes.
Dumke and Fothergill claimed the 2023 Bassmaster College Series Team of the Year title with 937 points.
