Maybe the clearest way of understanding that Ohio is sometimes headed in the wrong direction is seen with the first – and last – rest stops on Interstate-71 just north of Cincinnati.
Traveling north after (gratefully) leaving Cincinnati’s abysmal traffic in the rearview mirror, my wife, Bev, and I pulled into the state’s refurbished rest area. Small and just adequate, it hardly could find itself noted for being much more than clean pull-off to do one’s business. No, it is not a visitors’ center.
