Commentary: Troubled by Pennsylvania commissioners’ lack of oversight on antlerless license allocations

As a life-long Pennsylvania deer hunter, I read with considerable concern, the “antlerless deer allocations” article here in the April 23 issue. In the article, the current Game Commission board president announced that the commissioners would be abandoning the long-standing policy of voting on allocations for each management unit; the stated reason being the board’s desire to follow “science-based management.”
