Breaking News for

Sportsmen Since 1967

Cheaters sometimes win, but do they care?

During last fall’s Lake Erie Walleye Tournament Trail (LEWT) championship on Lake Erie tournament director Jason Fischer (l) confronts angler Jacob Runyan while holding lead weights Runyan and his partner, Chase Cominsky (not pictured), stuffed inside their walleyes. The pair of fishermen recently plead guilty in a Cleveland court. (Photo courtesy LEWT)
It matters not who came in behind the person who initially coined the phrase “second place is the first loser” or its similes since it is this catchphrase that drives the cheating engine. Cheating has existed since the original sin and has moved on from there. The world of sports not being exempt, either.
