New York’s Gazzola Federal Firearms License dealer case could be headed for SCOTUS

On March 20, the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, which is based in New York City, heard previous injunctions and temporary restraining order rulings on five lawsuits challenging provisions in Gov. Kathy Hochul’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act, and various other guns laws passed in June, 2022.
One of those cases, Gazzola v. Hochul, which seeks to provide relief to firearms dealers in New York from a number of provisions laid out in the new gun laws, is facing a decision on whether it should be immediately moved up the U.S. Supreme Court.

Amphibian, American eel spring volunteer initiatives announced in New York

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is again seeking volunteers to assist amphibians like salamanders and frogs during annual breeding migrations in Hudson Valley.
There is also an effort under way along the Hudson River estuary to assist ongoing research on migrating juvenile American eels.
