Michigan hunters take the most bucks per square mile of any state

According to data from the 2023 Deer Report put out by the National Deer Association, Michigan led the country averaging 4.0 bucks harvested per square mile, followed by Delaware at 3.5. (Photo by Eric Morken)

Michigan led the country averaging 4.0 bucks harvested per square mile, followed by Delaware at 3.5, South Carolina and Pennsylvania at 3.2, and Louisiana at 3.0. The national average is 1.6 bucks per square mile.
