Could the Ohio river walleye runs start early in 2023?

Typically, the annual walleye spawning runs up the rivers in Ohio get started with water temperatures right around 55 degrees or so. (Stock photo) 

With this late winter’s mild temperatures, many anglers are wondering whether the annual river walleye runs in northwest Ohio will be early this year.
The answer is: It all depends on water temperatures and how quickly they come up in the early spring.
