“Tackle” Terry Tuma says to use your electronics to mark the crappies, often found in schools but sometimes stretched out or scattered along the lake bottom. If the crappies are scattered, consider using a live-bait rig with 4-pound test line and a 4- to 5-foot-long snell tipped with a fathead.
