The monthly catch is higher during April through June at lakes located in the northern part of the state (Fox Chain O’Lakes, Heidecke Lake, Lake Carlton, and Shabbona Lake), whereas the monthly catch is as high or higher in September and October at lakes located in the southern part of the state (Kinkaid Lake and Lake Shelbyville).
